Occupation: Securities Administrator

Total No. of Collections: I currently have 131 Hobby Master and 10 Skymax aircraft as well as 36 Hobby Master armoured fighting vehicles (all 1:72)

Favorite HM Models: Beaufighter, late production Spitfire, Spitfire I, Harvard/Texan, Centurion main battle tank, F-100 Super Sabre

Reasons for Collecting: I have been an avid reader and modeller since I was very young, and early on I was fascinated by the stories of Canadian pilots & aircrew that served during the First and Second World Wars. I have never been able to build model kits very well (my hands tremble too much and I have a patience problem to boot), and out of frustration I quit trying ten years ago. When I discovered diecast 1:32 tanks in early 2007, I realized that I did not have to build model kits to have a collection that I could greatly enjoy. Due to space considerations I moved from collecting 1:32 tanks to collecting 1:72 tanks. I discovered diecast planes in 1:72 soon after that, and began focusing almost entirely on aircraft. The first Hobby Master aircraft I bought was their first Messerschmitt Bf 110, which had sentimental value to me because I butchered a model kit of that plane twenty years ago. That release really blew me away, which led to the addition of over a hundred Hobby Master models to my collection. My grandfather is involved with the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association based in Tillsonburg, Ontario, and I have always had an interest in the Harvards that served with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) in Canada during the Second World War, so it should come as no surprise that I have added every Harvard and Texan released by Hobby Master to my collection. Again, out of fascination for the aircraft, I have collected almost every MiG-21 and all of the P-39s released so far by Hobby Master. In short, these diecast aircraft represent the model kits I always dreamed of building when I was a kid, but lacked the skill to make & the money to buy.

Most Expected Future Models: CF-101 Voodoo, CF-116 Freedom Fighter (CF-5A), Bristol Beaufort, Martin Maryland, Douglas Boston
