Occupation:: Pilot
Total Number of Models: 150+, around 40 Hobbymaster
Favorite HM Models: I have to say my favorite HM models are the A-10’s, A-1’s, F-111’s, the F-4’s.
Reasons for Collecting: As a kid, I was around airplanes everyday (my dad was a pilot). Thanks to him I started building my own airplanes at a young age. But, since I have grown up and have two of my own kids, I have run out of time to build models. Therefore I have come to do the next best thing, collecting die cast.
I started off with commercial airliners, as there were not that many military aircraft that had the quality that I wanted. Since then I have managed to find airplanes that have met and exceeded my demand for quality and detail. In the last year or so I have collected all my HM aircraft and it is growing everyday. My biggest problem is not having a hobby store within 800nm that carries HM. My other problem is that my 5-year-old son now wants to collect and has started claiming my collection as his, not that this is really a problem, YET.
After flying a Harvard last summer, I now have to try and find the Canadian HM Harvard.
Most Expected Future Models: A-10 with Arctic Camo paint, CF-101 Voodoo, CF-18 with an anniversary / tiger meet paint scheme or the original (blue and white) hornet paint job, S-3 Viking and an F-86 Sabre.
