Total No. of Collections: My Hobby Master aircraft collection is 13 out of
a total 29 so far.
Favourite HM model: Brewster 239 flown by Ilmari Juutilainen, Suulajarvi, Dec 1942 "Orange 4".
Reasons for Collecting : I was brought up with tales of my father's time in the RAF during WWII from 1940 to 1946. He spent 46 months in North Africa (Egypt, libya and Palestine) in the Western Desert Air Force not as a pilot but mainly in the vehicle transport section. His tales of North Africa and the aircraft that he saw there have interested me ever since, hence his photo of the Boulton Paul Defiant.
So my interest mainly spans WWII but also with an interest in the between wars aircraft. I have also started to collect military vehicles with a North Africa theme as well.
Newest model is Spitfire MK.1 "GR-P" No 92 Squadron RAF Pembry Flt Lt Robert Stanford Tuck, May 1940. A stunning model from the Battle of Britain, however could do a hurricane as a stable mate!
Most Expected Future Models: Looking forward to the 1/48 Hawker Fury 1 and a 1940 Battle of Britain Hurricane. On the vehicles a Bren Gun Carrier set in North Africa.
