Occupation : BPO professional cum Environmental Scientist
Total No. of Collections : I have a total of 18 1/72 scale diecast model aircraft, of which 10 are from Hobbymaster and one from SkyMax.
Favorite HM Models : I'm particularly interested in modern jet fighters (4th and 5th Generation) as well as aircraft of World War II. I’ve got the following HM models:
1) F6F-5 Hellcat
2) F-117A Nighthawk
3) F-22A Raptor
4) F-16C Falcon
5) UH-1C Huey Gunship
6) AV-8B Harrier II+
7) AH-64D Apache Longbow
8) F-14D Super Tomcat (My personal favorite)
9) F-15C Eagle
10) F-15E Strike Eagle
11) Tempest Mk.V (Skymax)
Reasons for Collecting : I’ve had a keen interest in aviation as long as I can remember. I used to spend many hours looking at the pictures in a book about aviation history when I was about 3-4 years of age. I later came across some pictures and films of the F-14 Tomcat and the F-15 Eagle. With their twin tails, twin jet engines, (The F-14's variable sweep wings were of a particular fascination), and of course the array of missiles carried by both aircraft. I guess that’s what sparked my interest further and I had become an eager student of aviation from that point onwards. I have also been impressed by aircraft used in the Second World War particularly the 4 engined heavy bombers like the B-17 Flying Fortress as well as the B-24 Liberator with their heavy bomb loads and formidable defensive armament. Fighter aircraft of that era such as the Spitfire, P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair Messerschmitt Bf109, Mitsubishi Zero and others have also impressed me. I’ve always wanted a model aircraft collection but wasn’t really good in building plastic kits. I later came across Hobbymaster and some other manufacturers that made metal diecast scale model aircraft that are quite well detailed and I have been collecting 1/72 diecast models since 2011. Hobbymaster, you rock!!!.
Most Expected Future Models : P-61B Black Widow, PV-2 Harpoon, F4U-4 Corsair (Late WWII Korean War variant), B-25J Mitchell (Strafer/anti shipper with 8 nose guns), P-38M Night Lightning, AH-1Z Viper, UH-60 Battlehawk Gunship, Eurofighter Typhoon (Luftwaffe version), MH-53K King Stallion, Spitfire Mk.21, Su-30MK/SM , MiG-35, T-50 PAK-FA, Rafale M, Gripen E… (I can go on…)
