Favorite HM Models: HM F-4 Phantom

Reasons for Collecting: I was raised during the Vietnam Era and as a boy was fascinated by the pilots who flew the F-4 Phantom as well as many other planes of that time.

My Dad took me on many trips by plane. Our family lived next to Dorval Airport in Montreal where every Saturday my friends and I would watch the planes take off and land. I seriously wanted to be a pilot when I grew up but ended up working for the Government as a Civil Engineering Technologist.

As many of the collectors around the world I started with plastic models as a boy. Over the years I began collecting diecast model cars and airplanes. It was only when Armour came out with the 1:100 scale that I started seriously collecting the F-4 Phantoms. I have approximately 30 of that scale and later 4 of the 1:48 scale from Franklin Mint.

Then in 2008 I discovered Hobby Master with their 1:72 scale and I was very excited by the quality and precision of these models. So much so that I now have all of your F-4 Phantoms to date around 27 with a standing pre order for any new Phantom that comes out by Hobby Master. The latest one being the Vandy 1 Black Bunny which I just got in.

I also love other airplanes such as your new F-111 which I have 3 to date including the EF-111 Raven.

I also have all 5 of the Gemini Aces F-4 Phantoms which round out the British models of the Phantom nicely.


Most Expected Future Models: I hope at some point HM will produce some revetments or buildings used to house and repair aircraft .
